Therapeutic Residential Care

Our Therapeutic Residential Care Service provides specialised, nurturing environments for children who exhibit complex behaviours and are at risk. This service is essential for young people who are seeking a safe, supportive setting that promotes emotional and psychological healing. All young people admitted into our services go through an assessment and formulation, this will then be used to stabilise the young person and will also form the basis of their support. Care Services To You believe that young people who disply high risk behaviours can be managed in small therapeutic settings, like the ones we offer and reduce the need for young people to be placed in secure or inpatient settings. Complex young people usually present with trauma driven responses and this can be perceived as mental illness, we believe that in most cases that it is actually a skills deficit response and that these young people lack the live and living skills to respond in ways that are safer and less destructive. This is why we have adopted a model of support that is underpinned by PACE/DDP with DBT/Skill‘s Acquisition. We believe in Skills Deficit and Distress and not “behaviour problems” or “defiance”.
